How to Enable Browser Notifications for Birdeye Inbox?
Business users can configure browser notifications to get real-time alerts for incoming messages. After you log in to your Birdeye account, you will receive notifications.
NOTE:
To receive browser notifications, ensure that notification settings are enabled in Birdeye, your browser, and your computer settings.
Enabling Browser Notifications Within Birdeye
Go to ‘Settings,’ navigate to the ‘Account’ tab and click ‘Users.’
Hover over the desired user and click ‘Manage user.’
Under the ‘Inbox Alerts’ section, ensure that the ‘Pause browser notifications’ box is deselected (unchecked) to enable browser notifications. After making this change, click ‘Update,’ then log out and log back in to ensure the settings have been applied.
NOTE:
If the box is selected (checked), browser notifications will be paused, and you will not receive inbox notifications.
Alternatively, users can enable browser notifications by navigating to the ‘Notifications.’
Click ‘Edit your notifications.’
Select the business location to enable browser notifications and click ‘Edit notifications.’
Scroll down to the ‘Inbox Alerts’ section and ensure ‘Pause browser notifications’ is not selected. If it is, uncheck or deselect the box and click ‘Save.’
NOTE:
Browser notifications do not work in incognito mode.
Enable Browser Notifications Within the Browser
If browser notifications are disabled within the browser, you will not receive inbox alerts. To ensure you receive notifications, ensure browser notifications are enabled within your browser.
Google Chrome
To enable browser notifications in Google Chrome, sign in to your Birdeye account on your computer using Google Chrome, then click the icon next to the address bar, as highlighted in the image below.
Ensure that the ‘Notifications’ are enabled. If it is disabled, toggle the switch to enable it.
Microsoft Edge
To enable browser notifications in Microsoft Edge, sign in to your Birdeye account on your computer using Microsoft Edge and click the lock icon highlighted in the image below.
Click ‘Permissions for this site.’
Corresponding to the ‘Notifications,’ click the dropdown button and select ‘Allow’ to enable browser notifications.
Once the notifications setting is updated, return to the Birdeye account tab, and you will view the ‘Refresh’ button at the top of the page. Click on it to apply the updated settings.
Click the lock icon to check if notifications are set to ‘Allow.’ You can easily manage notification settings from there by selecting ‘Block’ or ‘Allow.’
Mozilla Firefox
To enable browser notifications in Firefox, sign in to your Birdeye account on your computer using Firefox. Then, click the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of your browser and navigate to Settings, as shown in the image below.
Go to ‘Privacy & Security’ and click ‘Settings’ mentioned corresponding to the ‘Notifications’ tab
Set the status to ‘Allow’ and click ‘Save changes.’ Return to the Birdeye account tab, refresh the page, and log in and out to ensure the settings have been applied.
Safari
If you use Safari as your browser, there’s no option to enable notifications within the Safari browser itself. To enable notifications for Safari, you must adjust the settings within your computer's system. This process will be explored below under the section ‘Enable Browser Notifications Within the Computer System.’
NOTE:
Browser notifications stop once you log out of your Birdeye account. However, you will continue to get notifications if you close the tab and do not log out of your account.
Enable Browser Notifications Within the Computer System
To enable browser notifications on macOS, navigate to ‘System Settings’ and click ‘Notifications.’ As shown in the image below, notifications for Firefox are turned off, you will not receive browser notifications even if they are enabled within Birdeye and the Firefox browser. It’s essential to enable notifications in your computer's system settings as well. Click ‘Firefox’ under your system's notification settings to do this.
Toggle the switch corresponding to ‘Allow notifications’ at the top right of the page to enable notifications within your computer system for Firefox.
Similarly, you can enable the notifications within your computer system for ‘Google Chrome.’
Toggle the switch to enable browser notifications for Google Chrome within your computer system.
If you use Safari as your browser, you can enable browser notifications directly within your computer's system settings. Click Safari and enable notifications.
