Does the customer data uploaded through Excel sheet overwrite the existing data?
When you upload customer data using an Excel spreadsheet, the system will check if any contact exists within the Birdeye database. To prevent a case of duplicate data entry, the following events shall take place:
- If the uploaded Excel spreadsheet contains the fields, 'Email ID' and 'Phone Number' but the field, 'Name' is missing, then the value of ‘Name’ shall be set to blank in the Birdeye database.
- In case the newly uploaded Excel spreadsheet has the field 'Name' but doesn’t have 'Email ID' and/or 'Phone Number' of the customer, then the existing data shall not be overwritten into the Birdeye database and the data within the account will remain intact.
- If the upload contains the same 'Email ID' with different 'Names,' then It will override the 'Name' of the contact with the latest one uploaded.
